Gaye Tripodi is an industry leader and advocate for horticulture in her community and across Victoria.
She has been instrumental in ensuring that a skilled, seasonal labour force is available to the horticulture industry, and successfully secured Swan Hill to be chosen as one of two Australian cities to pilot the Pacific Seasonal Worker Pilot scheme.
Gaye has provided advocacy and education to growers on the most current issues affecting grower productivity, particularly water, fruit fly funding and skilled labour sources. She is active in the local media and with all levels of government on issues affecting growers.
Gaye was the first Australian to be given a life membership for her contribution to the Italian community in Swan Hill, an achievement of which she is extremely proud.
She has been Executive member, President, and is currently Deputy President, of the Victorian Farmers' Federation Horticulture group, and is a member of the immigration working group for the Horticultural Industry, and the Australian Fruit Fly Management working group.
Gaye is a Managing Director of Murrawee Farms with her husband, operating a 600 hectare horticultural business.
