Lieutenant Colonel Laureen Grimes

Lieutenant Colonel Grimes has served the Australian community since 1980 as an Army Reservist.

Laureen has been an Army Reservist since 1980 and has attained the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Royal Australian Transport Corps.

During her career, she has served in a broad range of roles including, Defence Liaison Officer for the Melbourne Commonwealth Games, Chief of Staff of the 4th Brigade and as an Honorary Aide de Camp to the Governor of Victoria for three years.

Laureen was the first female to be appointed as Commanding Officer of Victoria’s Combat Support Services Battalion at Maygar Barracks, which was closely involved with Operation Victorian Bushfire Assist in 2009.

Over the last seven years, Laureen has also served on the Victorian Veterans Council and in 2018 was appointed as the first female Chairperson of the Council.
