About

Marion Lau OAM JP has spent her career advocating the cause for migrant women in Australian public, private and community life. She is the director of her own management consultancy firm, providing small business counselling particularly in matters of aged care, healthcare and migrant women’s health and wellbeing.

Marion’s overarching work has been to ensure that small businesses, especially business owners from non-English-speaking backgrounds, have the support to understand and comply with relevant legislations while also developing strategies to ensure their continuing financial sustainability. She is a volunteer with the Small Business Mentoring Service and provides advice and guidance to many small business owners.

As an aged care consultant, Marion is working to ensure the industry is ready to cater to the unique needs of elderly migrants. Marion has spoken at many seminars, conducted lectures and workshops for student nurses and multi-disciplinary members of aged care teams on caring for patients from non-English-speaking backgrounds and the ethnic aged.
