Kate Isobel Scott: My name is Kate Isobel Scott but I get called Kate, and I am an animation director and illustrator but work mainly with plasticine.
I think to give kids confidence in reading is so important because everywhere you go, there's always going to be something that you have to read, a form to fill out, a sign to read and to feel like you're confident and that you can understand what’s going on around you, it’s invaluable.
It also takes you on a journey.
If you're able to sit down and read a book, you can see from someone else's perspective.
You can go to another place that you've never been before.
Just from the power of sitting down and reading a book.
And I think it's invaluable and it’s so important.
The concept of wild about reading, there was just too much came to me at one go.
I was like, I could do this, I could do that and I think, like for the wild about reading to me specifically, was that I just wanted to capture something that was like an adventure, sort of a journey or like something fun that it wasn't too serious, that you could have fun with it.
And I think that’s the whole point of the Premiers’ Reading Challenge, is that it’s a fun activity that you can take part in.
