NSWP Applications 2023

Applications for NSWP funding open 2 May 2023 and close 11.59pm on 2 June 2023.

The Australian Government funded National Student Wellbeing Program (NSWP) provides:

  • pastoral care services
  • strategies that support the wellbeing of the broader school community.

Participation in the NSWP is voluntary.

Applications for funding 2024-27

Applications for NSWP funding open 2 May 2023 and close 11.59pm on 2 June 2023.

All Victorian schools can apply for funding. Funding is limited to approximately 613 school campuses across Victoria.

Eligible schools will:

  • be funded for four years from 2024 to 2027
  • receive $20,280 per year per campus to support the engagement of a chaplain or student wellbeing officer. Eligible schools in remote or very remote areas will receive up to $24,336. A maximum of 2 campuses will be funded per eligible school.

Register and complete the online application form by 11.59pm on 2 June 2023 at: https://nswpvictoria.grantplatform.com/.

Schools can apply for funding for a maximum of 2 campuses. An application for each campus is required.

Schools will be advised of the application outcomes in Term 3, 2023.

Selection criteria

The application process is an open and competitive process. Victorian schools who wish to apply to participate in the NSWP must submit an online application.

Funding applications will be assessed by the cross-sectoral panel against the following criteria:

  • social disadvantage as measured by the Student Family Occupation and Education of the school
  • demonstrated need for a NSWP chaplain or student wellbeing officer
  • integration of the NSWP chaplain or student wellbeing officer within the school wellbeing team
  • the ability of the NSWP chaplain or student wellbeing officer to support student engagement to address the demonstrated need
  • the ability of the NSWP chaplain or student wellbeing officer to improve learning environments to address the demonstrated need
  • how the NSWP chaplain or student wellbeing officer will operate within the school community and with external providers to support the wellbeing of students.
