Caterina Cinanni has dedicated 30 years of her life to organising workers.

She was the first woman elected National President of the National Union of Workers in 2019. She is Executive Director at the United Workers Union and Vice President of the International Union of Food Workers.

As a leader, Caterina empowered thousands of migrant farm workers to speak out and organise to fight against exploitation.

Her campaigning led to major improvements for farm workers and temporary migrant workers in Australia.

This includes a minimum wage for pieceworkers and guaranteed hours for Pacific workers.

It also led to labour hire licensing in Victoria, national legislation preventing modern slavery, and new visa protections for all migrant workers.

Caterina has advocated fiercely for gender equality. She supported the largest-ever workplace sexual harassment claim brought by women in Australia.
