Deshi’s VCE pathway

Deshi - Lawyer

Deshi has always wanted to be a lawyer. They enjoyed studying business and being part of the school debating team.

Why they chose the VCE

Deshi wanted to study law at university, so needs an ATAR.

They talked with their family, teachers and school’s careers counsellor about their options and to make sure they met the prerequisites.

They also completed work experience in a corporate office to find out if they enjoyed the work and environment.

What they studied

Deshi chose subjects that were relevant to their future career, as well as those they had a genuine interest in.

Deshi also chose to do a VCE subject in Year 10.

In Year 10, they studied:

  • VCE Physical Education Units 1 and 2.

In Year 11, they studied:

  • VCE English Units 1 and 2
  • VCE Mathematical Methods Units 1 and 2
  • VCE Legal Studies Units 1 and 2
  • VCE Modern History Units 1 and 2
  • VCE Physical Education Units 3 and 4
  • VCE VET Business Units 1 and 2 (working towards a Certificate III in Business).

In Year 12, they studied:

  • VCE English Units 3 and 4
  • VCE Mathematical Methods Units 3 and 4
  • VCE History Revolutions Units 3 and 4
  • VCE Legal Studies Units 3 and 4
  • VCE VET Business Units 3 and 4 (working towards a Certificate III in Business).
