- Family Safety Victoria
The Victorian Government re-establish the Violence against Women and Children Forum as the Statewide Family Violence Advisory Committee to advise the government on family violence policy and service provision. The committee should include representation from experts, victims of family violence and system advocates with perspectives on both prevention of and support for victims of family violence. Consultation with the committee should inform the evolution and implementation of the Statewide Family Violence Action Plan.

The Department of Premier and Cabinet has established the Family Violence Steering Committee. The Family Violence Steering Committee is the primary source of advice and leadership on the family violence reform agenda.
The Family Violence Steering Committee was established in the first half of 2016 and held its inaugural meeting on 20 June 2016. The group has provided specialist advice on key family violence reforms including:
- the consultation approach for Ending Family Violence: Victoria’s Plan for Change (10 Year Plan) and service design of the Support and Safety Hubs
- providing feedback throughout the drafting of 10 Year Plan
- the development of a Family Violence Outcomes Framework
- the draft Prevention of Family Violence Strategy
- the scope and timelines of the Multi-Agency Risk Assessment and Management reform
- the work being undertaken to develop an information-sharing regime
- the proposed consultation approach for the legislative changes to the Family Violence Protection Act 2008 (Vic)
- swift and certain approaches to family violence sentencing (as per the discussion and consultation paper issued by the Sentencing Advisory Council)

The Family Violence Steering Committee was established by the Department of Premier and Cabinet in the first half of 2016, and held its inaugural meeting on 20 June 2016. Since July 2017, Family Safety Victoria has held Secretariat responsibility for the group.
The Family Violence Steering Committee is the primary source of advice and leadership on the family violence reform agenda. It is co-chaired by:
- the Chief Executive Officer of Domestic Violence Victoria
- the Minister for Prevention of Family Violence
The committee members include representatives from:
- specialist family violence, child and family services and the social services sectors
- primary prevention
- the legal assistance sector
- Aboriginal services and communities
- diverse community sector stakeholders
- the Victim Survivors' Advisory Council
Other members include:
- Chief Commissioner of Victoria Police
- Commissioner for Children and Young People
- Commissioner for Aboriginal Children and Young People
- Commissioner for Gender and Sexuality Commissioner
- Chairperson of the Victorian Multicultural Commission
- Department of Premier and Cabinet
- Department of Justice and Community Safety
- Department of Health and Human Services
- Department of Education and Training
