The Sentencing Advisory Council report on the desirability of and methods for accommodating ‘swift and certain justice’ approaches to family violence offenders in Victoria’s sentencing regime.

  • On 5 September 2016, the Attorney-General gave the Sentencing Advisory Council the terms of reference for an inquiry into swift and certain approaches to the sentencing of family violence offenders.

    On 20 February 2017, the Sentencing Advisory Council released a discussion paper as part of its project to examine ‘swift, certain and fair’ approaches to sentencing family violence offenders.

    In late August 2017, the Sentencing Advisory Council provided its report to the Attorney-General.
