I first started when I was seven years old, and it was quite challenging at the start um just to try and understand the technique and make sure your following the rules and everything but I think after the first few times I got into a rhythm and then just enjoyed it ever since.
My name is Alanna Peart and I’m a race walker.
I just love just to keep going and then push myself and even when your feeling fatigued you just have to keep going and then its so rewarding when you get to the end knowing that you’ve put absolutely everything out there, every little last bit.
My most recent achievement was going to Oman and representing Australia overseas that was always my goal for so long and then Covid sort of ruined that a few years ago when I was selected but couldn’t go. Just being able to go to another country and race against everyone in the world that’s at the top level in the under 20 race was just amazing experience.

Alanna’s such a great role model you know she’s achieved so much already but she’s got so much further to go yet and now the world’s her oyster, but she has to keep working really hard and as you start to move out into senior ranks it gets a bit tougher, you’re taking on the whole world then but it’s exciting times for Alanna looking ahead.

Yeah, I am super excited to find out that I won the award it’s just so great to have some recognition for myself but also for the sport I represent and just also recognition for all the people that have helped me throughout the time and my school that have supported me as well. So yeah, it’s really recognition for all of my support crew that have helped me.
Oh yeah, I’ve definitely got some big goals, so next year I’ll be in the senior ranks. So, it might take me a few years but hopefully make some senior teams and go to world championships, commonwealth games and then hopefully one day the Olympics would be the ultimate goal.
