Holly: I'm pretty little. So, it's quite hard to find shorts and pants that fit because the women's range is pretty small.
[Holly demonstrates electrical trade.]
I’ve got the smaller size in everything.
Caitlyn: I'm so happy that there are more opportunities for women to work in male dominated areas.
[Caitlyn and a coworker demonstrate how they service a lift.]
Holly: A lot of women going into a male dominated industry will have a few concerns, you know, just might be the only woman there.
[Holly demonstrates electrical trade.]
But yeah, it's not as daunting as it seems.
Aisha: Head Start helps make sure that you're in a positive environment.
[Aisha in the workplace interacting with colleagues.]
Like people think guys are scary, but they're actually not scary. They’re pretty funny.
The guys are just like, now we need more females in the industry.
So, it’s pretty good.
Montana: The guys here, believe me, they've given me way more respect than I feel like I deserve and they trust me to service my own cars by myself now.
[Montana and co-worker demonstrate car mechanics.]
Talia: A lot of people can say some pretty nasty things about women in trade, but I just say, block that out and just keep going.
[Talia and co-worker demonstrate agricultural trade.]
Chantelle: I would definitely recommend the Head Start program to any young woman even thinking about getting out to the workforce in a trade or agriculture.
[Chantelle in a field of cattle.]
You get to do what you love.
Holly: Definitely just go for it.
Yeah, it's a great program to go through.
You know, just give it a shot.
