Portable Long Service is being introduced on the 1st of July 2019 for Victorians working in community services, contract cleaning and security.
Victoria's Portable Long Service scheme allows workers in these industries to build up long service based on the length of time working in their industry, not the length of time employed by one business.
Employers in these industries must register their business from the 1st of July, and every three months submit a quarterly return and pay a levy to the authority.
This levy will be used to pay for workers' long service.
Registration is easy and can be done online.
