North Eastern Metropolitan Psychiatric Services history in brief
In 1991, Larundel, Mont Park and Plenty hospitals were amalgamated with a number of outpatients clinics to create the North Eastern Metropolitan Psychiatric Services (NEMPS).
Some of the records listed in this guide may also be listed in the guides of the amalgamated hospitals and clinics.
Please note that administrative and structural changes to psychiatric services delivery meant that some records originally from other metropolitan areas ended up under NEMPS control or stored with NEMPS records. For example, this guide includes some administrative records and patients’ records from the Eastern and Northern metropolitan regions.
