My name is Karen Standke.
I'm was born in Munich, in Germany and I've lived in Melbourne for about 23 years and I've been an artist for 25 years.
The tree spirits here on the tram stop, I submitted this one for consideration because I thought the combination of the colors was particularly Australian, with the green and orange is something we see reflected.
As you wander through the city and you open your eyes, we're so blessed in Melbourne.
We've got lots of parks, we've got literally parks where you think you're in the bush, so you just got to open your eyes and look for the detail.
And so this one was perfect because it really speaks to the locality because this is a Melbourne tree.
