Chisholm Institute has a new facility that provides essential training in electric vehicles (EVs).

The EV facility features modern workshop spaces, equipment and technology. It gives students real-life experience on a range of trucks and cars.

The workshop zones are set up to support training in:

  • EV batteries
  • diagnostic work using specialist electronic tools
  • air conditioning skills.

A classroom within the workshop provides a space for students to learn EV theory.

Through the facility, Chisholm is providing skill sets in EV technology. Skill sets are short courses that help people to get skills in specialist subjects.

The electric vehicle short courses offered across Victoria through Free TAFE give mechanics the opportunity to gain in-demand EV skills without the cost of tuition fees.

Victoria’s drivers are demanding sustainable driving solutions. The Victorian Government has set a goal to achieve a decarbonised road transport sector by 2045.

Investing in TAFE facilities and training focused on clean economy skills will help Victoria to achieve its net zero carbon emissions targets.
