Reports of the Special Manager

The Special Manager has regularly reported to the Victorian Government and the community.

Reporting

The Office of the Special Manager published four 6-monthly activity reports, which are available on this website. The activity reports provide community and other stakeholders with an update on the Special Manager’s work and key activities during the previous 6 months.

The Special Manager was also required under legislation to provide 6-monthly interim reports, and a final report on a confidential basis to the Victorian Gambling and Casino Control Commission (VGCCC)(opens in a new window) and the Minister for Casino, Gaming and Liquor Regulation.

The interim and final reports were required to be provided confidentially because they included legally privileged and commercially sensitive information. These reports also detailed the Special Manager’s assessment and independent evaluation of Crown’s reforms. Publication of this information could risk compromising the Special Manager's independent work, and ultimately impact the VGCCC’s decision-making on the casino licence.

In accordance with section 36G of the Casino Control Act 1991 (Vic) the Minister or the VGCCC may disclose the Special Manager’s reports, or anything in them, if the Minister or VGCCC considers it in the public interest to do so.
