New jobs and opportunities for growth, while reducing waste
Recycling Victoria recognises that businesses are central to Victoria’s transition to a circular economy.
Recycling Victoria will oversee new requirements by 2025 for businesses to sort recyclable materials and organic waste from unrecoverable wastes.
The complete requirements, including who needs to comply and what materials are to be sorted, will be detailed in regulations developed by the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning in consultation with key stakeholders.
Recycling Victoria will work with Sustainability Victoria to ensure planning and procurement of waste and recycling services caters for community and school programs.
