A robust and reliable recycling system for all Victorians
Getting value from materials that would otherwise be waste decreases landfill, greenhouse gas and pollution. It helps combat climate change and is key to a sustainable and thriving circular economy.
Recycling Victoria is helping deliver the Victorian Government’s transformative circular economy plan – Recycling Victoria: a new economy.
Key initiatives of the circular economy plan are:
- new standardised, statewide four-stream bin system for households to separate glass, food and garden organics, mixed recyclables and rubbish
- a statewide container deposit scheme.
Recycling Victoria will oversee the delivery of these initiatives once the regulations and standards are finalised.
