VicEmergency provides information and advice to help people prepare for, respond to and recover from other emergencies. Their Relief and Recovery tab has useful information for emergencies, including who can help, what to do after a fire, and what financial and emotional assistance is available.

Bushfire Recovery Support Program

The Bushfire Recovery Support program has helped more than 2,000 people get the support they need after the fires. The program is a single point of contact linking people directly with vital services, including mental health support, housing support, financial counselling, and practical things like applying for grants and filling out paperwork.

If you or a loved one need support during this difficult time, call the Victorian Bushfires Case Support Program on 1800 560 760.

When calling the Bushfire Recovery Support Program you will be prompted to select one of the following options:

  1. If you identify as an Aboriginal Victorian and would like to access a Aboriginal service, please press 1.
  2. For bushfire mental health and counselling services, press 2.
  3. To discuss having your own ongoing support person, who will listen to your recovery needs, keep you up to date with the latest information, and help you navigate all local services, grants and funding available to you, press 3. 

For all other general enquiries or to speak to a customer service officer, press 0.
