Jobs and investment

The HCMT Project will result in 1100 jobs to build 65 next-generation trains, the Pakenham East depot and light service facility at Calder Park and the long-term maintenance of the trains.

Suppliers on the High Capacity Metro Trains Project

The train fleet will be built with at least 60 per cent local content – trains are being assembled in Newport in Melbourne's west using locally made systems and components.
