Keep Australia Beautiful Victoria (Stationeers)

Established in 1968, Keep Australia Beautiful Victoria is one of Australia’s oldest environmental non-profit initiatives dedicated to inspiring and empowering community action to protect and enhance our environment.

The Stationeers program aims to improve the look and feel of railway stations across Victoria by encouraging and supporting enhancement work undertaken by volunteers.

Railway stations are often the gateway to a community and a clean and attractive station creates a sense of community pride. It is also less likely to invite litter or vandalism.

Stationeers’ groups are comprised of local volunteers who share a passion for the environment and their local community. By improving local stations and the surrounding areas through activities such as planting, weeding and mulching, they become a welcoming and thriving environment for residents and wildlife.

The partnership between Keep Australia Beautiful Victoria, the Department of Transport and Planning and our network operators such as Metro Trains and V-Line, allows volunteers to obtain formal access to the network, appropriate safety training and equipment.
