LGBTIQA+ Taskforce term six recruitment open

We’re seeking passionate LGBTIQA+ individuals to help guide and inform the Victorian Government’s work for our communities. Your voice, lived experience, and leadership can make a real difference.

Expressions of interest

The Minister for Equality invites expressions of interest from passionate and committed LGBTIQA+ individuals to join the:

  • LGBTIQA+ Taskforce
  • LGBTIQA+ Health and Wellbeing Working Group
  • LGBTIQA+ Justice Working Group.

These groups are at the heart of Victoria’s work to build a more inclusive and equitable future for LGBTIQA+ communities.

They play a key role in providing trusted advice to the:

  • Minister for Equality
  • government and its departments.

The trusted advice then forms government action.

The Taskforce and its working groups provided advice on how to apply Victoria’s 10-year LGBTIQA+ Strategy, Pride in our future 2022–32.

By sharing your expertise and lived experience, you will help shape government thinking.

About the opportunity

We will appoint:

  • community members to the LGBTIQA+ Taskforce
  • community members to each of its Health and Wellbeing and Justice Working Groups
  • community co-chairs to LGBTIQA+ Taskforce and each of its working groups.

These roles are open to LGBTIQA+ people living in Victoria.

Appointments are for three years from January 2026 to December 2028.

Appointees are expected to:

  • review meeting materials in advance
  • contribute to discussions
  • provide advice.

Why apply

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the future of LGBTIQA+ communities in Victoria. Particularly, as we enter phase two of the Pride in Our Future strategy.

The government is committed to reflecting the full diversity of Victoria’s communities. We encourage applications from LGBTIQA+ people of all backgrounds including:

  • people whose lived experiences span multiple forms of marginalisation
