Complaints about services
If you believe this is a criminal matter, contact Victoria Police on 000.
You can complain to your early childhood education and care service, or to the Victorian Early Childhood Regulatory Authority (VECRA) directly, if you:
- have concerns about the safety, health or wellbeing of children
- are worried about the behaviours and practices of staff at an early childhood service
- believe there have been any incidents of physical and sexual abuse of a child at an early childhood service.

Make a complaint about a service to VECRA
You can make a complaint about an early childhood service directly to VECRA by:
- filling in our online complaint form
- contacting your local VECRA office – use our interactive map to locate your local office
- phoning our enquiries line on 1300 307 415, Monday to Friday between 9 am and 5 pm.
Complaints about VECRA
You can make a complaint about:
- a VECRA staff member
- your satisfaction with an action taken by VECRA.
To make a complaint or give feedback, contact your local VECRA regional office. Use our interactive map to locate your local VECRA office.
If your regional office cannot resolve your complaint, complete the online complaint form or phone 1300 307 415 Monday to Friday between 9 am and 5 pm.
When you lodge a complaint, we will:
- acknowledge your complaint
- contact you if we require further information
- aim to resolve your complaint promptly
- provide you with a written response that is clear and informative
- help you contact the right person if you are not satisfied with the outcome of your complaint.
Phone us using an interpreter
You can contact our main switchboard using an interpreter.
- Call the National Translating and Interpreting Service (TIS National) on 131 450
- Ask them to call 1300 307 415 (Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm)
- They will stay on the phone call and interpret.
