Privacy collection notice

The Victorian Early Childhood Regulatory Authority (VECRA) collects personal information through this form for the purposes of investigating complaints about early childhood services or VECRA as the sector regulator. VECRA handles personal information in accordance with the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 (Vic), the Health Records Act 2001 and the Public Records Act 1973 (Vic). Where VECRA is performing its regulatory functions under Education and Care Services National Law Act (National Law), personal information is  handled in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

When you provide your personal information as part of this form, we will use it to contact you to verify or request further information, or to provide you with an outcome to your query or complaint. You can ask to remain anonymous, but we may be unable to investigate or respond to a query or complaint without sufficient information, particularly if it relates to the care of your child. If this is the case, we will contact you for further guidance.

VECRA will collect, use and disclose personal information as required under the Victorian Children’s Service Act and the Education and Care National Law, and otherwise as authorised by law. Where legally authorised or required to do so, VECRA may disclose personal information to other government agencies and department and/or law enforcement. If we consider it necessary, we may also disclose information to prevent or lessen the risk of harm to a person’s health, safety or welfare.
