The Victorian Government has announced that Teach Rural will continue in the 2026 school year. Further details about the available support will be provided soon.
The Teach Rural program supports pre-service teachers (PSTs) in placements at rural and regional Victorian government schools.
As part of the program, you’ll get:
- a placement organised and coordinated by Country Education Partnership (CEP)
- fully subsidised and organised accommodation
- tailored welcome packs with information on the schools and community
- a welcome event and dinner with the host school principal or mentor
- a peer network or community engagement event
- dedicated mentor teacher support and induction.

If you complete a Teach Rural Placement you may also be eligible for daily grant funding under the Pre-service teacher Placement Grant (PPG) program.
