FVRICs are committees that work with local services and agencies to:
- understand local community needs, challenges and opportunities to strengthen responses to family violence
- work together to respond to family violence
- provide input to decision making on family violence policy and initiatives.
Each FVRIC includes a mix of agencies and organisations that respond to family violence. They are led by a chair and a Family Violence Principal Strategic Advisor (PSA).
13 FVRICs operate across Victoria, including:
- Barwon
- Bayside Peninsula
- Central Highlands
- Eastern Melbourne
- Gippsland
- Goulburn
- Loddon
- Mallee
- Northern Melbourne
- Ovens Murray
- Southern Melbourne
- Western Melbourne
- Wimmera South West.
Statewide Family Violence Integration Advisory Committee
The Statewide Family Violence Integration Advisory Committee (SFVIAC) represents all Family Violence Regional Integration Committees (FVRICs) at a statewide level.
Through SFVIAC, FVRICs work together to engage with government departments.
The SFVIAC is made up of all the Principle State Advisers (PSAs). They work together to:
- share information and build knowledge across FVRICs
- identify issues across the state and help shape policies and programs
- work with the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (DFFH) and other government departments
- work with family violence peak bodies and other statewide organisations.
