Apply for a 2024 VET Funding Contract

We have opted for a 2-year contract to give training providers the certainty needed to invest in training quality and infrastructure.

2024 Skills First contract arrangements

We are pleased to announce we will conditionally offer a 2-year VET Funding Contract, commencing 1 January 2024, to training providers currently holding a 2023 VET Funding Contract. We will not offer a 2024–25 contract to a training provider that has serious contract compliance or performance issues.

A 2-year contract gives all training providers the certainty needed to invest in training quality and infrastructure, build and retain their teaching workforce, and respond more strategically over time to jobs and training needs.

We remain confident in the quality of contracted training providers and their demonstrated ability to deliver Skills First training. So, we will not require them to participate in a full expression of interest process for a 2024–25 contract. Like last year, training providers will need to submit program delivery plans and participate in our independent financial assessment process.

We’ve published details about the 2024 contracting process and the timetable to take up the 2024–25 contract offer on the Skills Victoria Training System.

No expression of interest for new training providers for 2024

There will be no expression of interest process for training providers who do not have an active 2023 VET Funding Contract to offer priority programs for 2024.

We will continue to assess Victoria’s skills needs and may decide to open a future expression of interest process to contract with other training providers that can deliver programs where there’s a proven skills shortage.

Fair Jobs Code

The Victorian Government has introduced the Fair Jobs Code for suppliers and businesses it contracts with.
