Hampstead, Williamson and Wests roads temporary lane closures

The Victorian Government is building a new tram maintenance and stabling facility for Melbourne’s new Next Generation Trams on part of the 61 – 71 Hampstead Road site in Maidstone.

What we’re doing

During June we’ll be inspecting underground drainage and telecommunication services.

Where and when we’ll be working

We’ll be working on Hampstead, Wests and Williamson roads from Wednesday 14 June to late June. All works will occur during construction hours:

  • Monday to Friday, 7am to 6pm
  • Saturday, 7am to 3pm.

Changes to the way you travel

Motorists can expect reduced speed limits and temporary closure of the slow (left) lane on:

  • Williamson Road
  • Hampstead Road
  • Wests Road.

Pedestrians can expect temporary closure of the Hampstead Road footpaths with detours in place. Please use the pedestrian crossings at Williamson Road or between Keith and Richardson streets.

Temporary impacts are shown on the map on the next page. Please allow extra time for catching public transport. Please follow reduced speed limits, detour signage and the direction of traffic controllers for your safety.
