Several free substantial professional development opportunities for Learn Local staff events are on in second half of 2022.

Several free substantial professional development opportunities for Learn Local staff events are on in second half of 2022.

For pre-accredited educators:

  • Round six of the 20 hour Adult Literacy and Numeracy Practitioner Program (ALNPP) delivered over several weeks. The orientation session by ALA/ACEVic is on Thursday 21 July 2022 1.30-2.15pm. Contact Tamsin Rossiter
  • The four hour Koorie ALNPP module for educators teaching literacy and numeracy to Koorie learners. Contact Tamsin Rossiter
  • Moving delivery online with mentor support, a 12-week program delivered via ZOOM by the VET Development Centre (VDC) commencing on Thursday, 28 July 2022. Register for Moving delivery online with mentor support
  • Developing Digital Skills with a Blended Learning Approach program by VDC that runs over five weeks and involves a weekly 1-hour webinar and 1-hour ‘hands-on’ virtual workshop. Round 1 commencing 13 July is already full. Round 2 starts 5 October. Contact Lisa Confoy at VDC
  • Teaching Vulnerable Learners program comprising three parts, each of two 90 minute sessions and a one-hour session spread over three weeks run by the VDC. Register for one or more of these teaching and learning professional learning opportunities

    • Building Learner Support and Wellbeing (begins 11 August)
    • Supporting Learner Pathways (begins 13 October)

For managers of Learn Local programs:

  • Program for pre-accredited managers engaging with employers delivered by the Small Business Mentoring Service that comprises:
    • Instructional workshops online
    • Private follow up mentoring at each participating Learn local
    • Facilitated Community Working Group Sessions

  • Professional Leadership program run by VDC - register for the topics:
    • Introduction to VET and Learn Local Governance (session 1, 19 July, repeated 2 times later)
