Kindergarten parent opinion survey

Access the kindergarten parent opinion surveys for parents and providers.

Each year, parents and carers of children who are enrolled in a funded kindergarten program are invited to provide their feedback and views about their satisfaction with their child’s kindergarten program.

The survey questions and feedback from parents and carers provide valuable information which is used to plan improvement in kindergarten programs and education offerings.

2023 survey

The 2023 survey was open for feedback from Victorian parents and carers in Term 4, 2023.

The 2023 survey ran from 15 November to 8 December 2023 and was administered by the Social Research Centre. The survey was available in 10 languages other than English - Mandarin, Vietnamese, Arabic, Hindi, Punjabi, Cantonese, Urdu, Sinhalese, Tamil, and Dari.

Service providers were emailed a unique survey link to email or SMS to parents prior to the survey opening.

A service report is provided to all services who have five or more respondents to the survey.

2022 survey results statewide

The survey was open for parent responses from 15 November 2022 and closed on 9 December 2022. Independent administration of the survey was by the Social Research Centre.

The survey was available in 10 languages other than English:

  • Vietnamese
  • Arabic
  • Hindi
  • Punjabi
  • Cantonese
  • Urdu
  • Sinhalese
  • Tamil
  • Dari.

Over 17,000 parents completed the survey with their feedback, showing that 90% of parents are satisfied with their child’s education received from kindergarten.

2022 survey results for providers

A service report is provided to all services who have five or more respondents to the survey.

Service providers have received access to their 2022 survey results. No identifying information of participants was collected in the survey. Participants remain completely anonymous.
