Frankston Tech School

The new Frankston Tech School opened in Term 3, 2025.

Located at Chisholm Institute, Frankston campus, the Tech School connects local students to their futures by providing free access to innovative, practical STEM learning for all secondary students in the Frankston local government area.

Frankston Tech School spaces are designed to inspire collaboration and hands-on learning, bringing together diverse skills and ideas in a supportive, high-tech environment.

Timeline

  • 2023

    • Term 2: State Budget investment of $116 million to build 6 new Tech Schools and establish a Clean Energy Equipment Fund.
  • 2024

    • Term 1: Tech School Director appointed.
    • Term 2: Consultation and co-design meetings for facility and program design began.
    • Term 4: Construction of Tech School began.
  • 2025

    • Term 1: Tech School programs developed with input from local schools, industry and community leaders.
    • Term 3: Frankston Tech School opened. Programs delivered to local schools.
