The Chisholm Institute Early Childhood Tertiary Partnership course covers the Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care and/or the Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care. The training is delivered through a traineeship model, that links students with employers, a conveniently located TAFE, and an apprenticeship support network.

Features include:  

• job application assistance including resume and interview preparation and support
• fortnightly workshops to enhance skills and knowledge of the ECE sector
• study support and monthly check ins from project coordinators  
• monthly mentor check-ins
• access to a community of practice for employers and mentors.

The Gowrie Victoria Early Childhood Tertiary Partnerships course delivers a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care that provides wrap-around supports for target cohorts including people with a disability, culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities, First in Family to undertake tertiary study, and disadvantaged cohorts.

Features include:

• matching trainees with employers
• a dedicated coordinator to work with services and trainees from first contact
• support visits and intensive mentoring
• a wellbeing and mental health support program
• face-to-face delivery.

The Gowrie Victoria ‘Pre-Certificate’ Early Childhood Tertiary Partnerships course provides a staged transition into formal study for culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) participants keen to enter the early childhood educator workforce. The program is delivered in Carlton and is supported by a community liaison officer. It includes a 4-week introductory program to give students sector knowledge and build interest, skills and provide supported networking opportunities.

Features include:

• supported transition into a Certificate III
• access to a community liaison officer and community mentor for study support, mentoring, and guidance to enter paid employment
• access to mental health and wellbeing supports
• free childcare
• face-to-face delivery.

The VICSEG New Futures Early Childhood Tertiary Partnerships course provides the Certificate III and the Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care with additional supports for migrants, refugee and asylum seeker communities. 

Features include:

• delivery through both online and face-to-face models
• academic mentors
• language supports
• support for travel to attend key practical training sessions
• free access to childcare available for participants within VICSEG New Futures’ network of Early Learning Centres (pending availability).

VU TAFE Early Childhood Tertiary Partnerships course provides the Certificate III and the Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care, with the program operating across 2 streams: 

1. for students commencing a career in early childhood education (face-to-face delivery)
2. for existing educators to upskill to a higher vocational qualification (hybrid delivery)

With a focus on enrolling students in western metropolitan region, this program aims to attract a range of cohorts to study early childhood education including culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities, men, and older Victorians.

Features include: 

• in-language communications to support diverse enrolments
• placement supports, including targeted matching of employer organisations with students
• supported transition into employment
• individual mentoring
• access to community and industry ambassadors via professional learning sessions.

The Wodonga Institute of TAFE Early Childhood Tertiary Partnerships course delivers the Certificate III and the Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care. The program focuses on attracting and supporting participants from Towong and Wodonga local government areas to study early childhood education. It creates a pathway from VET delivered to school students (VETDSS) and school-based apprenticeships and traineeships (SBATs) into further study.

Features include:

• individual progress and support meetings
• employment-based placements, as appropriate
• intensive and regular workplace visits to support ‘on-the-job’ skill development
• access to a targeted academic skills program
• support for student travel and study costs
• an online community of practice for participants
• professional mentoring for Diploma students in the workplace

The Federation University Early Childhood Tertiary Partnerships program provides a pathway for diploma-qualified educators to upskill as early childhood teachers, through the Bachelor of Early Childhood Education, continuing into the Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood Education if they wish.

The bachelor degree is delivered through a hybrid model, with students studying full time while employed 0.6 FTE in the sector. The graduate diploma is delivered online.

Features include:

• financial incentives for employers to release employees for placements
• subsidies for regional and rural students travelling over 1.5 hours
• financial support for study materials.

The Monash University Early Childhood Tertiary Partnerships program is an employment-based Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood Education designed for experienced educators wishing to upskill, including those with an approved relevant competency or graded diploma, providing the option to continue working in the sector as an educator while studying. The Graduate Diploma is delivered online, to support those students who are combining their study with employment. 

Features include:

• coaching for students
• study leave days allocated per unit with ‘educator release’ funding to employers
• placement in student's usual place of work
• play and STEM units informed by the Conceptual PlayLab research.
• professional support for mentors.

The Swinburne University Early Childhood Tertiary Partnerships program is a Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood Teaching that is suitable for educators wanting to upskill as early childhood teachers and career changers who want to join the early childhood teacher workforce. This course supports regional communities to build education pathways into the sector through a Regional Outreach Model (ROM) and a collaborative local place-based approach in East Gippsland and Wellington local government areas.

The program is delivered through a hybrid model. 

Features include: 

• intensive blocks of face-to-face day/evening learning
• one to one ongoing support through digital and local platforms and VR simulated classroom experiences
• placements in the student workplace, where appropriate
• employment network support for participants to join the workforce in the latter stage of course.
