  • 1860s

Boots Gully opened as a rural school in the early 1860s. The exact open date is not known.

Robert Cole became head teacher in 1868 and he taught for 20 years.

The first schoolhouse was a wooden building with a dirt floor.

  • 1870s

The school became a state school at some stage between 1873 and 1878.
