The history of Panmure Primary School
1870s
Panmure opened as a common school in 1870. Classes were held in the Presbyterian Church.
The school building was made from bluestone that was quarried on the school site. It opened in 1872.
The school became a state school at some stage between 1873 and 1878.
1910
A house for the head teacher was built in 1910.
1916
Classes were held in the Panmure Public Hall while the school building was repaired.
1930
A school plantation was planted near Emu Creek Bridge.
1970s
The school was renamed Panmure Primary School in 1970.
1993
Laang Primary School became an annex of Panmure Primary School.
1997
Laang Primary School was officially closed and the school building was moved to Panmure.
2011
The school was extended and updated in 2011.
2020
The school commemorated its 150th anniversary in 2020.
2022
Panmure Primary School is still in operation.
