The history of Tarraville Primary School

    Tarraville opened as a national school in 1856.

    The first head teacher was John F. Blanche and he was helped by his wife.

    The school became a common school.

  • 1873

    The school became a state school in January 1873.

  • 1877

    A new schoolhouse was built in 1877.

  • 1970

    The name of the school changed to Tarraville Primary School in 1970.

  • 1989

    Tarraville Primary School closed in 1989.
