  • 1860s

    Guildford opened around 1860. The first head teacher was James Moray Henry and he stayed the head teacher for over 30 years.

    The school became a common school in 1862.

    A new schoolhouse was built in 1864 in the shape of a T from hand-made red bricks.

  • 1870s

    The school became a state school at some stage between 1873 and 1878.

  • 1969

    The school now only had 37 students compared to its peak of around 400 students.

  • 1970

    The school was renamed Guildford Primary School in 1970.

  • 2017

    Guildford Primary School closed in 2017.
