The history of Lake Bolac College
1866
The school opened as a common school in 1866. It was known as Parupa Common School when it opened. The first head teacher was Robert McKenzie.
1867
A new bluestone school building and teacher's residence opened in 1867. Thomas Freeman became head teacher at this time and 37 students were enrolled.
1870s
The school became a state school at some stage between 1873 and 1878.
1926
A new school building was opened by Frank Tate in 1926. The old school was sold and removed from the site.
1966
A general purpose room was opened in 1966 to mark the 100th anniversary of the school.
1970
The school was renamed Lake Bolac Primary School in 1970.
1998
Lake Bolac Primary School No. 854 and Lake Bolac Secondary College No. 7975 merged to form Lake Bolac College No. 854 at the beginning of 1998.
Lake Bolac College kept the number of the Primary School.
2022
Lake Bolac Primary School is still in operation.
