The history of Lower Buckland State School
1870s
Lower Buckland opened as a common school in 1871. It replaced the Catholic School No. 98. The first head teacher was Joseph Costello. There was a timber schoolhouse.
The school became a state school at some stage between 1873 and 1878. The size of the school grounds was increased in 1877.
A timber house was built for the head teacher in 1879. It had 4 rooms.
1914
A cloakroom was added to the schoolhouse.
1921
Lower Buckland State School closed in 1921.
