Details
The school was originally called Mount Cole Flats State School. The name changed to Shirley State School in 1913.
The school closed temporarily in 1928. It was reopened at a new site in 1948.
It was unstaffed for over a year during 1953-1954 until a new teacher was appointed. The school closed permanently in 1959.
