The history Kolora Primary School

  • 1870s to 1880s

    Glenormiston opened as a common school around 1870.

    The first head teacher was Gregory.

    The school was in the township of Kolora, between Camperdown and Mortlake in the west of the state.

    The school building was large with a gallery at one end where infants were cared for.

    Between 1873 and 1880 the head teacher was Miss Esther Pride.

  • 1892

    In 1892 the name of the school changed to Kolora State School.

    The school is now closed.

    The exact date of closure is unknown.
