The history of Wareek State School
1867
Wareek opened as a common school in 1867.
The first head teacher was named Brennan.
Classes were held in a timber schoolhouse.
1870s
The head teacher in 1872 was Edwin Smith.
This school became a state school sometime between 1873 and 1878.
1893
Wareek State School closed in 1893 because there were not enough students. The remaining students moved to Rathscar State School (No.1419).
Later the schoolhouse was destroyed by fire.
